With the visit from comet NEOWISE, my passion for astrophotography has been reignited.  The other night I got out with a friend of mine and took the tracking mount out to image the Andromeda galaxy. You can see the result in the photo to the left. I am pretty pleased with my results for the first time.
Anyway, with the comet visiting, it has brought back a fond memory from my childhood of standing out in the driveway of the house I spent my first 10 years in near Golden CO with my dad looking at comet Hale-Bopp when it lit up the night sky in the mid 1990's.  If you know me personally, you may know that he passed away in 2007. But, my passion for space and to a certain extent photography in general is thanks to him. He loved anything to do with space and even had a model of the Lunar Lander and Rover in a crawlspace that kind of looked a bit like a moonscape in my grandparents house.
If he was still around, I think he would be AMAZED by how the technology for viewing various celestial objects has progressed and would be blown away by what can be done with the simple gear I use and I am confident that he would enjoy being out with me taking in the night sky.

I'm not sure anyone has noticed since I don't really get many visitors. but, if you do visit here, you may have noticed some changes happening, I have updated my logo and made some of the pages flow a little more smoothly. also, some of the photos in my portfolio are placeholders for now, I had to delete a few pages and rebuild them to fix some of the issues I had.  anyways stay tuned!
Also, I may share some personal stuff here, if you do happen to visit my site and would like to see that, let me know via the contact form above!
